※About rarity

A postwar Zeiss rangefinder camera, the late-model Contax IIa. Made in Stuttgart, West Germany. The Zeiss product code is 563/24.

This example is the later version, manufactured from 1954 to 1961. The shutter speeds are marked in three colors: red, yellow, and black.

An improved model that was made smaller and lighter than its predecessor, the Contax II. The prewar Biogon, with its deeply protruding rear element, cannot be used, but this is still a highly appealing camera that allows you to enjoy the extensive range of Contax lenses with confidence.

This particular camera is in exceptionally clean condition and would also make an excellent addition to a collection.

There are hardly any signs of use. Both the chrome plating and paintwork are in superb condition, and the leatherette is also exceptionally clean.

In July 2026, the camera was thoroughly inspected and the finder cleaned by a specialist technician. Even after our six-month warranty has expired, we will continue to offer servicing at the customer’s expense. We hope you will enjoy this camera for many years to come.

The original leather case is included. The case shows somewhat more signs of use than the camera body.
