Micro-Nikkor 50mm f/3.5 for the Nikon S series. Introduced in 1956. Optical construction is 5 elements in 4 groups. Collapsible design. The filter size is 34.5mm screw-in.

This was the first 35mm-format Nikon lens to bear the Micro-NIKKOR name. It was produced for creating microfilm by copying. With a resolving power of 300 lines/mm, it remains a high-performance lens that is more than capable even today. Every time we test one in our shop, we are amazed by its rendering.

A rare lens, with total production of only around 1,200 units when combining both the Nikon rangefinder and Leica-mount versions.

This lens, previously sold by our shop, has once again returned to us. It was cherished by its owner, and remains just as beautiful as when we last sold it.

There are hardly any signs of use. The chrome plating has a beautiful shine, and the collapsible section is exceptionally clean as well. This is an outstanding example, in such fine condition that we would recommend using it without collapsing the barrel as much as possible.

Fully overhauled in 2023. Thanks to careful servicing, all controls still feel pleasant to operate. The matte anti-reflection lacquer inside the barrel has also been carefully reapplied, so an even cleaner, more contrasty rendering can be expected.

The rear element has a few extremely shallow cleaning marks, but these should have virtually no effect on actual shooting. Otherwise, the glass is free from haze and remains clear and bright.

In our test shots, we were able to enjoy the astonishingly detailed rendering characteristic of the Micro-Nikkor.
