Originally introduced in 1974 for the Leicaflex SL2, this is the ROM version produced from 1996 onward.

Compatible with the R-series cameras from the SL2 onward, this lens remained in production for many years as something of an understated classic. Its practical combination of an easy-to-use focal length, a relatively bright f2.8 maximum aperture, and a minimum focusing distance of approximately 30cm makes it highly versatile. Unlike more extreme ultra-wide-angle lenses, distortion is well controlled, allowing for natural-looking images.

The exterior is in like-new condition, showing no signs of use. The matte black finish retains its beautifully smooth and rich appearance.

All functions operate properly. The helicoid feels slightly heavy, though still within an acceptable range. The aperture ring operates smoothly.

The glass shows minor deterioration to the coating, which is unlikely to have any noticeable effect on image quality.

The matching-numbered original box, inspection certificate, warranty card, 12523 hood, and front and rear caps are included.
