The original Leica R6 was introduced in 1989, and the R6.2 appeared in 1992 as its improved successor. The major update was the addition of a 1/2000 sec shutter speed, making it an excellent match for fast lenses such as the Summicron-R and Summilux-R. Compatible lenses include 3-cam, R-cam, and ROM lenses.

At a time when electronically controlled automatic exposure and autofocus cameras had become the mainstream, Leica introduced this fully mechanical, manual-focus model. Even if the battery for the light meter runs out, the camera itself remains fully usable, so there is no need to shed tears over a dead battery. At the time of its release, it may have seemed somewhat behind the times, but its reliable mechanical construction, combined with its compact and lightweight body, has since been highly praised. It remains very popular today and is a model often sought out by name.

A mint-like example complete with the original box, display case, strap, warranty card, inspection certificate, and full set of documents. You may find it almost too nice to use.

A rare example that feels as though it has arrived in the present day by time machine. Also highly recommended for a collection.

There are virtually no signs of use, and it is quite literally in like-new condition. Even the mount shows almost no marks from lens attachment and removal.

All functions are working properly. The film advance and mirror action are exceptionally smooth, and the finder is clear. The exposure meter is also working correctly.
