Using modern materials, Leica revived the legendary original Noctilux 50mm f1.2, one of its rarest and most celebrated lenses. The shape of the lens and hood follows the original as closely as possible, resulting in a very natural and authentic finish.

The distinctive Noctilux 1.2 rendering has been beautifully reproduced, including its resolution, peripheral fall-off, and distortion. It delivers stable image quality and can be used confidently even wide open. The minimum focusing distance is 1m. E49 filters are compatible.

There is slight black chrome wear on the edges of the front end of the barrel, aperture ring, and helicoid ring, but overall the exterior is clean and attractive. The dedicated 12475 hood is in unused condition.
Under the previous owner, this lens was overhauled by Leica Japan in 2026, including focus adjustment. All functions operate properly, and the handling is smooth. The glass shows no haze or cleaning marks. Rangefinder coupling accuracy can vary from one example to another with the reissued Noctilux, but this particular lens is spot-on. The results from our test shots were also excellent. Enjoy the one-of-a-kind rendering that only a Noctilux can deliver.
