Rollei 35S in black paint. Made in Singapore.
The 35S is the higher-grade model fitted with the fast f2.8 Sonnar lens, featuring Rollei’s own HFT, High-Fidelity-Transfer, coating. The helicoid distance scale shows meters on the top and feet on the bottom.
The Rollei 35 series is a legendary compact 35mm camera designed by Heinz Waaske, and it influenced many later camera designs, including the Leica CL, to name a well-known example.
It achieved one of the smallest bodies among 35mm full-frame cameras. The lens collapses into the body for carrying, making it an exceptionally well-thought-out package. It also has a highly practical built-in exposure meter.
With this look, it would make a perfect companion camera for a Leica M3, M2, or M4 in black paint!
This item was previously sold by our shop. It was carefully used by its owner and has now returned to us.
The exterior has a well-used appearance, showing the character of many years of service. The black paint has developed bubbling with age, while the brass and aluminum showing through in various areas give it a sharp, rugged presence.
All functions operate smoothly, and the exposure meter is working properly. Film advance, shutter operation, and other controls are in excellent working order, and the meter is accurate enough for practical use. When a strong LED light is shone through the finder, an extremely faint haze can be seen, but it has no effect on visibility, and the view remains clear.
The lens is also free from cleaning marks and haze, with beautiful glass and excellent clarity.
It comes with the original hand strap, cap, and case, making it a ready-to-use set that you can take out shooting right away.
