Nikon SP in chrome finish, manufactured by Nippon Kogaku. Serial number in the 6.22 million range. The SP is the pinnacle of Nikon rangefinder cameras.
The main viewfinder features parallax correction, switchable frame lines for 50mm, 85mm, 105mm, and 135mm lenses, and a built-in rangefinder. Its life-size 1.0x magnification is another outstanding feature. The secondary viewfinder provides framing for 28mm and 35mm lenses.
The helicoid has a distance scale in feet. Titanium curtain shutter. Supplied with a 50mm f1.4 lens.
Until recently, this camera was regularly used by one of our customers. It remains in excellent working order and is ready to provide a smooth and enjoyable shooting experience.
Cosmetically, there are some very light scuff marks on the top cover and shallow scratches on the bottom plate. There is also one very small ding on the front-left corner of the bottom plate. Overall, however, the body is quite clean and presents very well.
As is often the case with Nikon SP cameras, the auxiliary finder for 28mm and 35mm lenses shows haze caused by balsam deterioration, making the view appear slightly blurred. There is also some deterioration in the rangefinder window. The main finder, however, is free from haze and offers a crisp, clear view with strong contrast in the double image.
The lens barrel shows a very slight deformation at the front edge. There are also two or three extremely light cleaning marks on the front element, but these should have virtually no effect on actual photographs. Otherwise, the glass is free from haze and has excellent clarity.
The original hood, front lens cap, and a third-party filter are included.
An ideal Nikon SP for practical everyday use!
