Nikon SP chrome finish. Made by Nippon Kogaku. Serial number in the 6.2 million range. The flagship model of Nikon’s rangefinder cameras. The main viewfinder features parallax correction and switchable bright frames for 50/85/105/135mm lenses, with the rangefinder image built in. The 1:1 magnification is another wonderful feature. The auxiliary finder supports 28mm and 35mm framing. Feet scale. Cloth focal-plane shutter. The included standard lens is a 50mm f1.4.

This particular example shows only light signs of use and remains in very clean condition. Both the camera and lens have been serviced. It also comes complete with its original box and genuine lens hood, making it an SP that can be enjoyed both as a user camera and as a display piece.

Previously sold by our shop. It was carefully used by its owner and has now returned to us once again.
There are a few very minor scuff marks on the bottom plate and corners, but overall this is a very clean example. A Nikon SP that can be enjoyed with confidence.

In 2025, the camera received shutter inspection, helicoid regreasing, disassembly and cleaning of the finder and rangefinder, as well as rangefinder adjustment.

As is common with the Nikon SP, the auxiliary finder shows some haze caused by balsam deterioration, resulting in a slightly soft view. The main finder, however, is free from haze, with a crisp and clear view and strong rangefinder patch contrast.

The Nikkor 50mm f1.4 lens has been fully overhauled. As often seen with this lens, there is extremely minor balsam separation along the edge of the rear element, but it should have virtually no effect on actual photography. Other than that, there are no noticeable scratches or haze, and the glass is beautifully clear and clean.
