XOONS hood for the Summarit 50mm f1.5. The later product code is 12520. Made of brass with a black crackle finish, it is a superbly crafted piece. It has a sense of solidity and presence rarely seen in modern industrial products.
It can be used not only with the Summarit, but also with the Leitz Xenon 50mm.
Although it looks quite substantial for a 50mm lens hood, it appears surprisingly neat even when mounted on a small Barnack Leica, giving a fine sense of Leica’s exceptional design quality.
An exceptionally clean example, close to unused condition. No signs of wear are visible on the mounting surface or retaining screw.
Comes with the original red box, which is believed to be an early box for the XOONS.
