Canon 7 Black Paint. Leica screw mount. The paint is, of course, original. With its angular body, it offers a comfortable grip, a built-in exposure meter, and built-in finder frames for 35/50/85/100/135mm lenses, making it a truly easy-to-use camera.
This example has been nicely used, with some brass showing through in places, giving it a wonderful character. It does not come up very often, and naturally makes you want to pair it with Canon’s black lenses made especially for black bodies. With this black body, Leica lenses would also look exceptionally good mounted on it. Somewhat rare.
There is a ding on the corner of the top cover on the film advance lever side. Paint loss from use can be seen on the edges, and overall it has aged very nicely with great character.
In May 2026, the shutter mechanism was serviced and the exposure meter was adjusted by a specialist repairer. All functions are working smoothly. The finder view is also good.
Comes with the original plastic body cap and a beautiful black leather case.
