Super-Angulon 21mm f3.4. Chrome finish. An ultra-wide-angle lens with serial number in the 1.96 million range, manufactured in 1963. First production batch. The Angulon 21mm f3.4 starts from serial number 1967101, and this particular example is the 119th unit.
Leitz product code is 11103M. Although it carries the Leitz name, it was manufactured by Schneider. Rangefinder coupling is from 1 meter, but it can be focused down to approximately 0.4 meters by estimation.
The filter size is E48. Alternatively, Series VII filters can be used in combination with the 12501 hood.
Please note that it cannot be used with the Leica M5 or CL due to interference with the meter arm. Also, on cameras with built-in meters such as the M6, the rear element may obstruct the metering cell, resulting in inaccurate readings. While there are certain limitations, this is a wide-angle lens capable of producing a uniquely distinctive rendering.
Minor scuffs from hood attachment and removal can be seen around the front edge, along with slight rubbing accompanied by some gloss from use. However, the overall appearance remains quite clean. For a white-finish Super-Angulon 21mm f3.4, which is often found in heavily used condition, this is a particularly well-preserved example. The included hood is also in nice condition.
Fully overhauled in April 2026. Both the aperture and helicoid have been adjusted to provide a smooth and precise operating feel.
There are only 2–3 extremely faint cleaning marks on the front element. Otherwise, the glass is clear and free from the haze and cleaning marks commonly seen with Angulon lenses, offering a crisp and transparent view. Test shots confirmed stable performance even at maximum aperture.
Comes with a 12501 hood, original aluminum rear cap, and a third-party hood cap.
