※About rarity

Leica Model A fitted with the rare Hektor 50mm f2.5. Serial number 46xxx, manufactured in 1930.
Only approximately 1,330 units of the Model A with Hektor were produced between 1930 and 1932. This particular example matches perfectly with the Leitz shipping records as a Hektor-equipped unit, and remains in original condition.
As with early Model A cameras fitted with the old Elmar, the lens bears no serial number engraving.
Showing clear signs of long use over nearly a century, suggesting it has captured countless scenes throughout its life, yet the overall condition is well balanced and full of character.
A rare and highly collectible piece.

This is a previous item sold by our shop. Welcome back!

There is a minor dent on the right edge of the top cover when facing the camera, and the bottom plate shows quite noticeable scratches. The operation dials and frequently handled areas have worn over years of use, with the nickel plating thinning and the underlying brass showing through. The bottom plate also has some touch-up paint, but considering its age, it presents a natural, well-used character.

As with its previous sale, all functions are in good working order. The finder is crisp and clear, and the film advance and shutter operate very smoothly. The Hektor lens glass is also in very good condition with only minimal cleaning marks. A Leica A with Hektor that we would love to see continued in active use.

A genuine front cap and a third-party UV filter are included.
