※About rarity

Nikon S3 chrome. A rangefinder camera made by Nippon Kogaku. Serial number in the 6.3 million range. Introduced in March 1958 as the successor to the S2 and a more affordable counterpart to the SP.
The Nikon S series is renowned for its robust construction and reliable operation, and the S3 remains highly regarded as a practical user camera. Brightline frames for 35mm, 50mm, and 105mm lenses are displayed simultaneously. Parallax correction is indicated by marks within the frame lines. This example is fitted with the earlier cloth shutter curtains (later models used titanium curtains).
The included lens is the classic Nikkor-S 50mm f1.4, a compact high-speed standard lens. Wide open, it delivers a soft and atmospheric rendering, while stopping down brings a dramatic increase in sharpness and clarity.

There are quite a few scuffs and small scratches on the top cover and bottom plate. There is also one small dent near the tripod socket. A nice user-condition camera that can be enjoyed without hesitation.
All functions operate properly. The finder shows very slight haze, but the view remains exceptionally clear for a Nikon S3.
The attached Nikkor 50mm f1.4 is beautifully clear with no haze. As is often the case with this lens, there is slight balsam separation around the edges of both the middle and rear elements, but neither should have any noticeable effect on actual shooting.
A genuine lens cap is included.
