Made by Nippon Kogaku. This is the genuine 28mm external viewfinder for the Nikon S series, intended for lenses such as the Nikkor 2.8cm f3.5. This example is the slightly less common version with the parallax correction scale marked in meters. Serial number 4080xx. Marked NIKON.

It can also be mounted on cameras such as Barnack Leicas without interfering with the shutter dial, making it quite useful in many situations. Compact, yet bright and easy to look through!

The exterior is extremely clean, showing almost no signs of use. The glass is also clear and bright, with no cleaning marks or haze.
The included leather case is also in very good condition.
