Second-generation Leica Summilux 50mm f1.4 in original black paint. Serial number in the 2.07 million range, manufactured in 1964. Full original-condition example.

This lens is an early Yellow Scale version, featuring yellow distance markings. The coating shows an amber-dominant tone with hints of magenta on several elements.

The barrel design follows that of the first-generation Summilux 50mm f1.4. In contrast to the dazzling chrome version often nicknamed the Lady, this black paint version carries a far more aggressive and purposeful appearance. The Black Lady, perhaps 😄

A perfect match for black paint Leica M bodies such as the Leica M3, MP, M2, and M4. It would also pair beautifully with recent digital black paint M models. A rare piece.

Very minor wear can be seen on the filter ring at the front of the barrel. In addition, fine bubbling has begun to appear on the black paint of the helicoid section — but this is exactly what makes vintage black paint lenses so appealing. Far from a negative, many collectors would consider it a plus. There are no dents or impact marks. The mount surface is also beautifully clean, matching the overall appearance.

Fully overhauled in April 2026. Thanks to careful servicing, the aperture, helicoid, and all other operating parts remain exceptionally smooth in use. Rangefinder coupling is spot on.

The middle elements show very slight coating deterioration, but otherwise the glass is beautifully clear, free from noticeable cleaning marks or haze. The original coatings remain intact on each surface. Test shooting results were also excellent.

A third-party front cap and genuine rear cap are included.
