Leica Meter MR in black chrome, commonly known as the MR Meter. Leitz product code 14218.

This exposure meter attaches to the top plate of Leica M cameras and couples with the shutter speed dial. Metering is by CdS cell.

This is the model known as the Leica Meter MR-4, with an OFF/ON switch positioned so that it no longer interferes with the rewind knob. It was introduced in 1966 alongside the Leica M4.

This is an item previously sold by our store. It was put to good practical use by its owner, and has now returned to us.

Its condition is unchanged from when we last sold it, but its exterior shows the honest signs of having worked hard for half a century. The black chrome finish has thinned overall, and there is plating wear from rubbing on the sliding areas of the battery check switch and the OFF/ON switch. There are no noticeable scratches or dents.

In June 2026, before offering it again for sale, it was serviced by a specialist, including sensitivity adjustment. All functions operate smoothly, and the meter delivers accuracy fully suitable for practical use.

A Leica Meter that can still be expected to serve well for many years to come.
