Leica’s classic lens hood, the IROOA, commonly known simply as the Irooa. The later product code is 12571J. This example features the double-hook design.

There are several variations of the IROOA, and this particular version has six compatible lenses engraved on the hood.

It fits lenses with an E39 39mm screw-in filter thread. Compatible lenses include the 8-element Summicron 35mm f2, Summaron 35mm f2.8 and f3.5, Summicron 50mm f2, and Elmar 50mm f2.8 and f3.5.

With its robust construction and simple, stylish design, the IROOA is one of Leica’s most iconic lens hoods. Its compatibility with a wide range of lenses makes it a classic accessory well worth having in any Leica kit.

It shows signs of regular use, including rubbing and some shine to the finish. There is a slight distortion at the front edge of the hood. The mounting section is free from distortion, and we have confirmed that it fits properly on E39 lenses.

A lens hood also helps protect the lens when attached and carried around. This example is ideal for everyday use without having to worry about adding a few more marks.
