The king of twin-lens reflex cameras, Rolleiflex 2.8F. This example has a serial number in the 2.4 million range and was produced around 1960, when the 2.8F was first introduced. The Planar 80mm lens delivers its performance beautifully on the spacious 6×6 medium format. It features a convenient coupled exposure meter. The finder hood is detachable, and Bayonet III (Bay 3) accessories are compatible. The focusing screen is a split-image type with grid lines.

The exterior shows a well-balanced, honest condition without being overly pristine. For this sale, the camera has been fully serviced and operates smoothly. A worry-free 2.8F ready for regular use.

There is a minor dent near the shutter release on the lens board, a small touch-up of black paint near the corner of the focusing hood, and some light wear on areas where fingers typically touch, but overall it remains a fairly clean example.

The key aspect of Rolleiflex operation, the film advance crank, operates smoothly, and all moving parts including the shutter and aperture dials as well as the focusing knob offer a pleasant, fluid feel. The lens shows a few light cleaning marks on the front element, as well as some coating wear commonly seen on Planar lenses of this era, but these do not affect actual image results. Overall, the glass is in reasonably good condition for a Planar-equipped 2.8F.
