Elmarit-R 19mm f2.8, ROM version. This is the second-generation Elmarit-R 19mm f2.8 for the R system, featuring a 10 elements in 12 groups construction. Compared to the first version, it has been made more compact.
Serial number in the 3.93 million range, manufactured in 2001. Leica product code is 11258.
Despite being an ultra-wide-angle lens, it offers a bright maximum aperture of f2.8, making it usable even in relatively low-light conditions. Compared to lenses such as the Super-Angulon, vignetting in the corners is more moderate.
In addition, it is equipped with a built-in turret filter system. Four filters—ND x1, Or, YG, and KB12—are mounted on a single rotating disk, allowing quick switching between them. A very sophisticated and well-engineered design.
A highly enjoyable lens that we would recommend using on digital mirrorless cameras via an adapter.
There are very slight paint losses on the helicoid ring and aperture ring, but overall it presents a clean appearance. It is in a condition that allows you to enjoy shooting without hesitation.
All parts have been inspected. Both the helicoid and aperture ring operate smoothly with a pleasant feel.
Under strong LED light, only very minor dust particles can be seen in the glass, and they will have no noticeable effect on actual shooting. There are no visible scratches or haze.
A genuine 12546 hood, hood cap, and rear cap are all included.
