Kinoptik Apochromat 100mm f2, late version for Alpa. Made in France. It was produced from 1960 to 1980, with only 748 examples made, making it a rather rare lens. It features a 6-element in 4-group Gauss-type optical design. With its exceptionally high specifications, it was also an expensive lens in its day. The minimum focusing distance is approximately 65cm from the front of the lens.

This example has been converted for Hasselblad use and is equipped with a helicoid. As it has no shutter mechanism, it can be used on Hasselblad focal-plane shutter cameras or digital cameras. Naturally, its image circle covers the medium-format frame.

With a Hasselblad lens adapter, it can also be enjoyed on a wide range of mirrorless cameras.

There are some light signs of use, but the overall cosmetic condition is very good. There are no noticeable scratches or dents.

The lens received a full overhaul in 2026. The aperture and helicoid now operate very smoothly.

The glass shows only very minor coating deterioration. There is no haze, and the glass is clear and bright. There are also very few scratches, leaving the optics in good overall condition. The results of our test shots were also very good.

Sample images are available in our Test Shot Gallery. They were taken with a Leica SL and a digital Leica M using adapters. Wide open and near wide open, the lens produces beautiful softness and glow while retaining a pleasing sense of clarity.

A hood that can be attached via the included filter ring is supplied. As the filter is not screw-in type and can come off easily, be sure to secure both the filter and hood firmly to the front of the lens barrel with Permacel tape or similar before use.
