Nickel Hektor 5cm f2. Serial number in the 90,000 range, manufactured around 1930. Helicoid number 5. Distance scale in meters. Lens construction is 3 groups, 6 elements. Leitz product code HEKTOR.
The helicoid is the full-rotation type, but to allow stress-free operation even when used with an adapter, the repair technician has secured the back of the lock button with a screw. It can be returned to original specification if desired.
The original hood is the FIKUS variable hood, and our shop’s original aperture-control hood FB-10 is also compatible.
This example focuses well and delivers pleasing image quality. The slightly soft rendering near wide open creates a lovely atmosphere. Recommended as a clean, practical Hektor for real use.
Previously sold by our shop. This Hektor was sold five years ago, carefully used by its owner, and has now returned to us. Welcome back! This marks the third time we are offering it for sale.
There are minor scratches and signs of wear, but for a nickel Hektor the overall use is relatively modest, and the plating remains in good condition.
After a full overhaul in 2017, a light maintenance service was carried out again in 2021, including replacement of the helicoid grease. Thanks to this careful servicing, all operations remain smooth and pleasant today.
The front element shows shallow cleaning marks and some age-related discoloration of the glass, but considering that many Hektors suffer from heavily damaged glass, this example remains in quite respectable condition.
Sample images from the previous sale have been posted in our Test Shoot Gallery. For some of the samples, our in-house made Hektor-dedicated hood FB-10 was attached during testing.
A genuine bakelite cap is included.
