Rolleicord V. Serial number in the 1.55 million range. Manufactured between 1954 and 1957. Fitted with a Schneider Xenar 75mm f3.5 lens. Equipped with a Synchro-Compur shutter with speeds up to 1/500.
Positioned as a more affordable alternative to the Rolleiflex, the Rolleicord omits features such as the Automat mechanism, but still offers more than enough in practical use. Its simple construction and lighter weight are part of its appeal, and many photographers actually prefer this straightforward Rolleicord approach among twin-lens reflex cameras.
This example shows minimal signs of use and is a Rolleicord in very good overall condition.
This is an item previously sold by our shop. It was carefully used in real shooting by the customer and has now come back to us.
There is some minor paint wear on the back door from use, but overall it remains a quite clean example.
Overhauled in 2024, and all functions are working smoothly. The shutter and aperture lever, which can often feel heavy, operate lightly and comfortably. The focusing screen is the type with one vertical and one horizontal line crossing at the center, forming a crosshair.
The taking lens shows no cleaning marks and is clear and crisp. The previous owner actively enjoyed shooting with it, and it is ready for continued use with confidence. Enjoy the gentle, refined rendering of the Xenar, distinct from the more contrasty character of top-tier lenses such as Planar or Xenotar.
Included are a third-party lens cap, a genuine H1 filter, and third-party protection and ND filters. Very welcome accessories for practical use.
The price includes domestic shipping within Japan and consumption tax.
