This example bears a serial number in the 2.89 million range and was produced in 2002, the launch year of the MP, from the second batch of the initial production. It features a built-in light meter and a 0.72× viewfinder.

Faithfully inheriting the long tradition of Leica M cameras, the MP remains highly popular even today.
While this camera no longer comes with its original box or paperwork, it retains a strong, near-new presence and has been carefully serviced throughout. With new MP bodies now priced well above JPY 1,000,000 (!!), this represents a very appealing option — especially for those with a fondness for early production examples.

This item was previously sold by our store and has been carefully used by the customer. It remains in the same excellent condition as at the time of the last sale. At first glance, it appears almost like new. If examined very closely, you may find extremely minor signs of use around the top cover near the strap lugs, the edges near the advance lever, and the mount area, but these are at a level that would go unnoticed unless you look very carefully.

It was overhauled by a professional specialist in 2025. All functions, including the shutter and exposure meter, are currently working perfectly. Thanks to the careful servicing, the operation feels very smooth, and the rangefinder image shows good, strong contrast.
