Serial number 3.63 million, made in 1993. The model immediately preceding the ASPH. version, with approximately 10,000 units produced between 1992 and 2005.
Optical construction of 8 elements in 7 groups. Lightweight and compact, making it very easy to handle. Known for high resolution and a crisp, sharp rendering.

Shows almost no signs of use and remains in exceptionally clean cosmetic condition. There are no mounting marks on the bayonet, and it would easily pass as new.
Both the aperture ring and helicoid turn smoothly, providing an excellent operating feel. Rangefinder coupling is spot on.
The glass has a very slight edge separation on an inner element, and under strong LED light only a minute amount of dust can be seen, but neither will have any meaningful effect on image quality. There are no cleaning marks, haze, or fungus. Overall, the optics are beautifully clear. The results of our test shooting were also excellent.
A genuine E46 UVa filter, 12547 hood, hood cap, and case are included, so it is ready to go straight into use. Although the serial numbers do not match, a period-correct box from the same era is also included. The box shows signs of aging and should be considered a bonus item.
