Serial number 3.63 million, made in 1993. The model immediately preceding the ASPH. version, with approximately 10,000 units produced between 1992 and 2005.
Optical construction of 8 elements in 7 groups. Lightweight and compact, making it very easy to handle. Known for high resolution and a crisp, sharp rendering.
The exterior shows almost no signs of use and is in exceptionally clean condition. There are no mounting marks on the mount, and it could easily pass as new.
Both the aperture ring and helicoid operate smoothly, offering excellent handling. Rangefinder coupling works perfectly.
When inspected under strong LED light, the glass shows only a trace amount of dust, which has virtually no effect on images. There are no cleaning marks, fungus, or other issues, and the glass is very clean overall. Actual shooting tests also produced excellent results.
A genuine E46 UVa filter, 12547 hood, hood cap, and case are included, so it is ready to go out and shoot as is. An original box from the same period is also included, though the serial number does not match. The box shows signs of deterioration and should be considered a bonus item.
