Leica M6 Chrome, Panda version. Serial number in the 1.77 million range, manufactured in 1989. Leica product code 10414. Finder magnification is 0.72.
Based on the chrome M6 Classic, this Panda version features black components such as the film advance lever, shutter speed dial, and rewind crank, creating an attractive two-tone appearance.
An ISO setting dial is located on the back door, and exposure information is displayed by red LED arrows in the viewfinder. The Leica M6, with its built-in light meter, has regained strong popularity in recent years along with the resurgence of film photography, thanks to its ease of use and reliability. It is also still fresh in memory that a reissue version was introduced in recent years.
The M6 Panda has its own dedicated fan base, and examples have become increasingly scarce on the market in recent years.
There are approximately three very minor pin-prick sized scuffs on the top cover, and one faint hairline mark beside the finder eyepiece. Otherwise, the camera shows little sign of use and retains a very clean, beautiful appearance.
Overhauled in February 2026. The light seals have also been replaced. All functions, including the exposure meter, are working properly. Film advance and all other controls operate smoothly, and the finder view is crisp and clear. Suitable both for collection and practical use.
A genuine body cap is included, although from a slightly later period.
