Voigtländer Nokton 35mm f1.2 Aspherical. A limited silver-finish edition, with 300 units sold in 2007. Manufactured by Cosina. Leica M mount (VM mount). Optical construction of 10 elements in 7 groups, including an aspherical element.
The barrel has a size and presence similar to the Noctilux 1.2, and the helicoid ring features a reverse-knurled finish reminiscent of the Summilux. Minimum focusing distance is 70cm. Actual measured weight is 454g for the lens alone. The filter size is 52mm screw-in.
An astonishing maximum aperture of f1.2 for a 35mm lens. Wide-open rendering is characterized by a gentle, soft sweetness, giving this lens a very distinctive look. Despite its ultra-fast aperture, it remains reasonably priced and can be enjoyed without hesitation in everyday use.
There are a few small marks on the knurled section of the focusing ring, but otherwise it shows minimal signs of use and has a clean overall appearance.
All functions operate normally, and rangefinder coupling is spot on. At infinity, the rangefinder double image slightly overshoots.
The glass shows very minor coating wear that is only visible when held under a strong LED light and should have no effect on actual shooting. No cleaning marks are present.
The dedicated lens hood, front cap for the hood, and rear cap are included.
