Rokkor 35mm f3.5. Made by Chiyoda Kogaku. Leica screw mount with rangefinder coupling. Late production model in the 1.2 million serial range, manufactured around 1957. Tessar-type optical design with 3 groups and 4 elements. Equipped with a 6-blade aperture. It is said that approximately 4,000 units were produced. A rare lens.
It features the company’s world-first multi-coating technology, Achromatic Coating, characterized by its distinctive green hue. While the specifications of 35mm f3.5 may appear modest, the lens delivers rich color reproduction and strong central sharpness even at full aperture. At the same time, it offers atmospheric vignetting and a gentle flow toward the edges, providing the classic character and charm of an old lens. A very impressive performer.
Meter scale with a minimum focusing distance of 1 meter. Weighs approximately 160g. Accepts 34mm screw-in filters.
Shows very little sign of use and retains a clean, attractive exterior. The mount surface and filter rim are also in beautiful condition. A fine example suitable for a collection.
All functions operate properly. Rangefinder coupling is accurate and solid.
There are a few extremely faint cleaning marks on the front element and very slight coating wear that can only be seen under strong LED light, but neither should have any noticeable effect on actual photography. The glass is free from haze and remains crystal clear.
The results of our test shooting were excellent. Sample images have been posted in our test gallery. As mentioned above, it delivers rich color reproduction and a rendering that truly conveys the charm of an old lens. We warmly invite you to take a look.
Original front and rear caps are included.
