Hasselblad 500C/M with Carl Zeiss Planar 80mm f2.8 T*. A Swedish-made medium format camera, renowned for its solid construction and enduring quality.
Introduced in 1970, the 500C/M remained in production until 1989 as a long-selling model. An improved version of the earlier 500C, the Modified designation reflects refinements such as the introduction of an interchangeable focusing screen and other subtle specification updates.
The body dates from 1971, the Planar 80mm lens from 1971–72, and the A12 magazine from 1980. The focusing screen is the standard type. The Planar lens features distance markings in feet.
This particular example has been re-covered with high-quality dark blue leather. A very stylish and attractive camera.
No noticeable scratches or dents are present, and the overall appearance is very clean.
As is often the case, part of the shutter speed scale printed on the barrel of the Planar shows slight wear to the lettering, but there are no significant scratches or dings, and it remains in beautiful condition.
The body, lens, and magazine were all fully overhauled in February 2026. The magazine’s light seals have been replaced. All functions operate perfectly, with a smooth and responsive feel throughout. It is ready to use with confidence.
When held under a strong LED light, the Planar 80mm shows extremely slight coating wear on an inner element, but this has virtually no effect on actual shooting. Otherwise, there are no noticeable cleaning marks or haze, and the glass is clear and clean.
A genuine plastic lens hood, leather strap, and a third-party filter are included.
A truly lovely blue Hasselblad. Perfect for those looking for something just a little different.
