Leica wide-angle lens, Summicron-M 35mm f2 ASPH.
Serial number in the 3.90 million range, produced in 2000 — the millennium year. Made in Germany. Black chrome finish. Leica product code 11879. Equipped with 6-bit coding. Minimum focusing distance is 0.7 m.
Within the Summicron 35mm f2 lineage, this lens represents the fourth generation, following the 8-element, 6-element, and 7-element versions. It features a 5-group, 7-element optical design with an aspherical element. Delivers sharp, well-defined focus right from wide open. The rich, pleasing bokeh is a hallmark of the Summicron tradition.
The design matches digital Leica M bodies exceptionally well. Lightweight and compact, the lens is complemented by the included 12526 hood, which is minimal in design and highly portable. An ideal choice for photographers who want to shoot aggressively and enjoy 35mm to the fullest.
There is very slight wear on the aperture ring, but otherwise the lens is in fully clean condition. No noticeable scratches or damage are present.
The helicoid was overhauled and the glass was cleaned in January 2026. Operation is smooth, with a refined and pleasantly damped feel.
There is extremely minor coating deterioration on the inner element, but it has virtually no effect on actual shooting. Aside from this, there is no haze or cleaning marks, and the glass is beautifully clear. Rangefinder coupling works perfectly.
The original box with matching serial number, case, 12526 hood, genuine front and rear caps, UVa filter, serial-numbered vinyl bag, and instruction manuals are all included.
