Super-Elmar-M 18mm f3.8 ultra-wide-angle lens. Leica M mount with rangefinder coupling. Leica product code 11649. Introduced in 2009, when the Leica M8.2 was still the current model. On the M8 and M8.2, it provides an angle of view equivalent to 24mm. Actual weight is approximately 293g.

Optical construction is 8 elements in 7 groups, including an aspherical element. The angle of view is exactly 100 degrees. This lens delivers a very pleasing sense of perspective. Whether used outdoors or indoors, its generous field of view offers a shooting experience that feels refreshingly different from the everyday. The coatings are highly effective, maintaining solid contrast even under strong backlit conditions.

Wide open, there is a small amount of vignetting, but by f5.6 performance becomes stable all the way to the corners. Distortion is well controlled for an ultra-wide-angle lens, making it easy to use without special effort—one of its key strengths.

Filters are used via the 14484 filter carrier, accepting E77 size filters. The included UV/IR filter is intended for the M8 and M8.2 only; when mounted on full-frame bodies, vignetting will occur. Please also note that the front element protrudes significantly, so use of the lens hood is essential.

There are no signs of use and it is in like-new condition. No paint loss is visible on the hood.
All functions operate normally, and rangefinder coupling is spot on.
The glass is free from haze and cleaning marks, leaving nothing to be desired in terms of condition.

Included are the original box, leather case, instruction manual, inspection certificate, Leica USA warranty registration card, genuine hood, hood cap, rear cap, 13422 UV/IR filter, 14448 E77 filter carrier, and the 18mm finder 12022 with leather case.
Please note that there is some paint loss on the right side of the finder eyepiece.
