Alpa 11si. The top cover features a black crinkle finish and the bottom cover is finished in black paint. This is the final and most popular model in the Alpa lineup, known for its ease of use and high reliability.
Between 1976 and 1989, a total of 412 units were produced in silver chrome, and 768 units in black chrome or black paint. The black version came in both crinkle and black chrome finishes.
The 11si upgraded the CdS metering cell of the earlier 11el to a faster-responding SPD element with a wider metering range, and the exposure display was improved to a three-color LED system. The tiny signal-light style indicators that softly glow in the finder and on the top cover give the camera a warm and charming character. It is a truly delightful exposure system.
This example is the European version without the crest on the front of the pentaprism, giving it a clean and cool look. The body serial number matches the production number on the baseplate.
The included original box also has the matching serial number, confirming that this unit was originally sold as a body-only set.
A wonderful piece for any collection.
This is an item previously sold by our shop that has returned to us. It was carefully used by the customer and remains in the same good condition as when it was last sold. Some rubbing and shine can be seen on the top of the pentaprism and on the edges of the top cover, but overall it is a fairly clean example.
It was serviced in 2025 by a professional technician, including regreasing, focusing adjustment, and exposure meter calibration.
The exposure meter uses a 4LR44 battery. Its behavior is close to spot metering, and it operates correctly. The spring contact at the back of the battery chamber is slightly compressed, making it just a bit short of reaching the positive terminal on the opposite side. A small piece of aluminum foil is placed to bridge the gap, and the meter works properly.
The matching serial box and inner box are included, along with a simple multilingual manual in French, German, English, Italian, and Spanish. It also comes with the dedicated lug required for attaching a strap, a part that is difficult to obtain on its own.
