Summicron 50mm f2, black paint, rigid mount, late version. Serial number 2.03 million, manufactured in 1964. The combination of black paint and red scale gives it a bold, purposeful look.
The black-painted areas around the lens base and aperture ring show fine bubbling, while the filter rim, aperture ring, and other frequently touched areas reveal a subtle brassing. The result is a beautifully rugged appearance with deep character developed over time.

This item was previously sold by our shop and has now returned. It has been carefully used, and its fine exterior condition has been well maintained. While signs of use and paint wear remain minimal, the lens shows a sense of presence and character. There are no dents or impacts.
It received a full overhaul including focus adjustment in 2024, at the time of the previous sale. Thanks to careful servicing, all controls remain exceptionally smooth, and rangefinder coupling is spot on.
A very slight haze can be seen around the periphery of the middle element when examined under strong LED light, but there is virtually no effect on actual images. The original factory coating remains well preserved on all glass surfaces.
A black-rim SL filter and front and rear caps are included. The front cap is black chrome. The SL filter is engraved LEITZ WETZLAR GERMANY on the front and E. LEITZ U.S.A. SL on the rear. This is also a rare accessory and suits the lens perfectly.
