Nikon S3 Olympic model, made in 1964. Finished in a bold and refined black paint. This version was released seven years after the original Nikon S3 and is often referred to as the reissue type. It features a titanium shutter curtain and a viewfinder with 35, 50, and 105 mm framelines. The dedicated Olympic Nikkor uses a newly designed 5-group, 7-element optical formula. The distance scale on the body is in meters.
At first glance it is clean enough to be mistaken for the Nikon S3 Limited reissue from 2000, yet this is an entirely original S3 Olympic.

There are extremely faint linear marks on the upper part of the strap lug on the right-hand side when facing the camera, as well as near the NIPPON KOGAKU logo on the top cover. Light wear can also be seen on the film guide inside the body, but otherwise there is almost no sign of use. It is a very clean example overall. An S3 Olympic in such fine condition is a rare arrival for us.
All functions operate correctly. The finder shows two tiny specks of dust, but there is no haze and the viewing clarity is excellent. The rangefinder patch has strong contrast.
On the included Olympic Nikkor, both the front and rear elements show extremely faint traces of fungus that are only visible under a strong LED light, but these will have virtually no impact on image quality.
Comes with the original hood, lens cap, magazine, leather case, silica gel with optical mark, Nikon-branded plastic bag, Japanese manual, inner box, and an outer cardboard box (the serial number does not match).
A wonderful piece for any collection.
