Second-generation Summilux 50mm f1.4. Finished in black chrome. The Leitz product code is 11114. Serial number in the 2.62 million range, manufactured in 1973. 5 elements in 7 groups. Filter size is E43 screw-in.
As the newly designed second generation, sharpness at and near full aperture was improved. While retaining the distinctive character of the Summilux, it delivers a more stable and consistent rendering. In recent years, it has reemerged as one of the most sought-after Leica lenses.
Despite its fast f1.4 maximum aperture, it remains relatively lightweight and compact. The actual measured weight of the lens is 288g.
The black finish pairs beautifully with modern mirrorless cameras and digital Leica M bodies. In both design and rendering, it is truly versatile. A true standard lens from Leitz.
There is a very slight paint loss at the very front edge of the lens, but aside from that it remains in like-new condition. The lens mount surface shows no signs of use and is exceptionally clean.
Fully overhauled in February 2026. The aperture and helicoid have been adjusted to provide a smooth operation with a pleasant, moderate torque. Rangefinder coupling is precise and accurate.
Under strong LED light, a faint and very slight coating deterioration can be observed, but it has virtually no effect on actual shooting. Test shots confirmed excellent performance.
The matching-number original box and warranty card are included, along with a very clean 12586 hood with its original box, a 14007 front cap, and a plastic case.
A superb Summilux 2nd with a complete set of accessories. Ideal for a collection as well.
