A four-element, four-group symmetric design based on the meniscus-type Hypergon concept, with T coating. The lens does not couple to the rangefinder, but stopping down makes zone-focus shooting enjoyable. Distance scale is in meters.
This ultra-wide lens, created by Dr. Richter who had previously worked at Goerz, was originally developed for aerial photography. With its extremely steep curvature and very small glass elements, production was said to be exceptionally difficult. Total production is estimated at around one thousand units. This example belongs to an early batch.
Some camera bodies or adapters may not allow proper mounting. Please inquire as needed.
A Leica M-mount adapter with close-focus extension mechanism is included, along with a Leica M to SL adapter. Used together, they allow operation on a Leica SL body.
A rare item.

This is an item previously sold by our shop and has returned to us after being carefully used by the customer. It remains in the same good condition as when it was last sold.
The lightweight aluminum barrel shows a bit of the characteristic corrosion, but the exterior is still clean. The aperture and helicoid rings operate smoothly, and all functions work properly.
The glass shows a few light cleaning marks and minor coating wear, but these do not affect image quality.
This lens cannot be mounted on Leica M cameras, even with the supplied adapter, as it will interfere with the body’s rangefinder roller. Use with a mirrorless camera is recommended.
Test shots were excellent. The softly rendered edges create a uniquely atmospheric look, while stopping down produces a calmer, more controlled image. A delightful ultra-wide lens to use.
