An Actina-brand lens hood made for Leica lenses by Schmidt Shokai, the former Leitz distributor in Japan. This example bears the THE LEICA TOKYO name.

Schmidt accessories appear to have evolved through the following names: Schmidt Shoten, Schmidt Shokai, THE LEICA TOKYO, and ACTINA.

This hood was modeled after the genuine Leica FLQOO hood. Its range of compatible lenses is also very similar, including the A36 collapsible Elmar 50mm, Elmar 35mm, Summaron 35mm, and Summar 50mm.

Like the original Leica hood, it attaches with a screw clamp. A rather uncommon accessory.

This example shows little sign of use, although some deterioration of the plating is visible. There is a slight trace of rust around the base, and the front edge is slightly distorted. Tested for proper fitting on an A36 lens.
