Summilux 50mm f1.4, an early example of the second generation with a beautiful chrome barrel. This model is also known as the Lady. The Leitz product code is SOOME, later 11114. Serial number is in the 1.92 million range, produced in 1962. Made in Germany. Minimum focusing distance is 1 meter. Filter size is E43.
While the exterior design remains that of the first-generation Summilux, the optical design was updated to the second generation. The lens construction is the same 5 groups, 7 elements as the 1st version, but design revisions resulted in a noticeably sharper and more tightly defined rendering, especially at wide apertures.
The soft, gentle character unique to the 1st version is wonderful in its own right, but the increased realism and clarity introduced with the 2nd generation are equally impressive. A truly all-purpose lens.
Compatible lens hoods are XOOIM, 12521G, or the later black-barrel hood 12586.

There are a few very light, minor rub marks on the lens barrel, but no noticeable scratches.
A full overhaul was carried out in January 2026. The aperture and helicoid now operate smoothly, and rangefinder coupling is spot on.
There are a few light cleaning marks and some minor coating wear on the inner element, but no haze is present, and the glass remains clear and bright. Actual shooting tests produced excellent results.

An original E43 UVa filter, a third-party front cap, and an original rear cap are included. A clean, well-balanced Summilux that is just right for practical use.
