A rare nickel NOOKY, NOOKY-HESUM. This example is finished in nickel and has no magnification engraving, representing a very early early version. An exceptionally scarce accessory. It is no surprise, as it appeared around 1935 when chrome finish became the mainstream, and only a very small number were produced in nickel. Incidentally, the finder frame bears the Germany engraving, indicating an export model.
A close-up accessory for Barnack Leicas. Mounted between the lens and the body, it enables close focusing down to approximately 50cm (1:6.5), while also providing parallax correction — a beautifully engineered accessory.
Compatible lenses are the Hektor 50mm f2.5 and the Summar 50mm f2. The names of the respective lenses are engraved at the entrance of the lens mount. Please note that it cannot be used with the Elmar 50mm f3.5.
This example features the narrower finder frame width and is compatible with the Leica DII through IIIa. The typical period use was to mount it on a black paint Leica DII or DIII and enjoy close-up photography with a Hektor or Summar.
There is some dulling to the plating and paint due to age, but very little sign of actual use.
In February 2026, the camera was inspected and lubricated by a professional technician. The operation has been finished to a very smooth and satisfying feel.
It was sold in-store while being prepared for listing. Thank you very much.
