The locking screw is blackened brass. This is a top-grade used item with very little sign of use.

A hood with built-in aperture control, something surprisingly hard to find. Designed for A36 Elmar 50mm lenses. Compatible with a wide range of versions, from early Elmar lenses of the 1920s to the final red-scale Elmar. As dimensions vary by production era, we collected and tested multiple examples from different periods to determine the optimal sizing.
It can also be used without issue on the wide-angle Elmar 35mm f3.5.

This item came back to us together with the lens from one of our customers.
A slight brass showing can be seen on the lower edge of the hood section and on the small screws at the base, but overall it remains in clean condition with minimal signs of use.
The blackened retaining screws show some fading due to age, though they are still nicely dark. Enjoy the character that will continue to develop with time.
