Summicron 35mm f2 second generation, six-element version. Leica product code 11309. Serial number in the 2.82 million range, manufactured in 1977. No-goggles type, made in Canada. Filter size E39.
Following the first-generation eight-element model, this version has also become increasingly difficult to find in excellent condition.
Often overshadowed by the eight-element, the six-element version has its own unique appeal: a well-balanced focusing throw, a focus tab that fits naturally to the fingertips, slightly subdued color rendition, and a character that is crisp yet not overly hard. It is compact, lightweight, and pairs beautifully with Leica M-series bodies.
This particular lens comes complete with its accessories and is in superb, no-compromise condition.
It shows no signs of use and has an exceptionally beautiful appearance.
Fully overhauled in October 2025, including precise focusing adjustment. The aperture and helicoid operate with perfect smoothness, and rangefinder coupling is spot on.
Matching its fine exterior, the glass is perfectly clear with no haze or cleaning marks, providing excellent transparency. Test shots also produced outstanding results.
Comes complete with the matching serial-numbered original box, 12504 hood, Series VII filter, and both front and rear caps. A fine choice for any collection.
