Leitz wide-angle lens Elmarit-M 21mm f2.8, later E60 version. Leica product code 11134. Serial number in the 3.36 million range, manufactured in 1985.
This was the first 21mm Leica lens to adopt a retrofocus design, allowing it to be used with all M-series Leica cameras, including the M5 and CL. It has a 6-group, 8-element optical construction. Minimum focusing distance is 0.7 m, and filter size is E60. The matching hood, not included with this lens, is model 12543.
Unlike the Super-Angulon, this lens shows no pronounced color cast and is much easier to handle in everyday use.
This lens was previously sold by our shop and has come back to us. It was carefully used by the customer and remains in beautiful condition, just as it was at the time of the previous sale. No mounting marks are visible on the bayonet.
Both the helicoid and aperture ring operate smoothly, and the rangefinder coupling is perfectly aligned.
The glass shows only very slight coating deterioration, which has no effect on actual photography. Other than that, there are no noticeable cleaning marks or haze, and the optics are in excellent condition.
Comes with genuine E60 UVa filter and original front and rear caps.
