Leitz VIOOH upright Vidom finder in black and chrome. Known overseas as the Imarect finder and in Japan as the Seisho Vidom. It was produced over a long period from around 1938 to 1964.
It offers frame selection for 35, 50, 85, 90, and 135mm. When you change focal lengths while looking through the finder, the way the frame narrows with a firm mechanical motion feels strikingly futuristic and very cool. Parallax correction is marked in feet.
There are faint scuff marks around the chrome-plated frame size indicator. Minor paint loss can also be seen on the edges of the eyepiece and the top shoe, but there are no other noticeable marks, and the black finish remains well preserved, making this a rather clean example for a VIDOM finder.
Fully overhauled in November 2025. Many upright VIDOM finders on the market are sold as is and, unfortunately, most suffer from heavy haze, but this one offers a crisp, clear view with smooth operation.
A rare New York Leitz box is included.
