Super-Angulon 21mm f3.4. Chrome barrel. Serial number in the 2,050,000 range, manufactured in 1964. Leitz product code 11103M. Although a Leitz product, production was carried out by Schneider.
The rangefinder couples down to 1 meter, but with scale focusing it can be used as close as 0.4 meters. Filter size is E48.
Please note that it cannot be used on the Leica M5 and CL, as it interferes with the metering arm. On cameras with built-in meters such as the M6, the rear element may block the metering cell, causing inaccurate readings. Despite these limitations, this lens delivers a unique wide-angle rendering.
The exterior shows a fair degree of use, but the glass is clean. For a chrome-barrel Super-Angulon 21mm f3.4, this is a very good condition example.
There are some scuff marks on the front edge of the barrel from attaching and removing the hood. Other than that, including the hood itself, there is little sign of use and the overall appearance is fairly clean.
The aperture and helicoid both operate smoothly. The glass is free from the haze or prominent wipe marks that are often found in Super-Angulons, remaining clear and bright. Test shots showed stable rendering even wide open.
This is a Super-Angulon that lets you fully enjoy dynamic ultra-wide compositions without concern. Ideal for practical use.
Comes with 12501M hood, Series 7 UVa filter, 14102P front cap, and an aluminum rear cap, covering all the essentials.
