Leica Meter MR-4 Black Paint. CdS exposure meter. Leitz catalog number 14218. Of course, this is the original black paint finish.
It mounts on the top plate of M-type Leica cameras and couples directly with the shutter speed dial. In this MR-4 version, the exposure meter’s ON/OFF switch no longer interferes with the M4’s rewind crank.
The black paint wear on this unit is nicely balanced, giving it a sharp, professional look. A perfect companion not only for the Leica M4 black paint, but also for M3, M2, and MP black paint models.

The black paint has worn off in places from long years of use, revealing the brass underneath, but there are no dents or impacts. It shows signs of having been well used over the years, yet it remains fully functional and precise enough for active use. Operation confirmed.
