Elmarit-R 135mm f/2.8, a telephoto lens for Leica R. This is a 2-cam version, serial number in the 2,040,000 range, made in 1964. Made in Germany. This example is an early red scale version, with the feet markings shown in red, giving it an even more striking appearance.
A traditional Leitz 135mm telephoto lens, introduced as part of the original lineup alongside the launch of the Leicaflex. This particular lens appears to have been upgraded by Leitz from 1-cam to 2-cam after the introduction of the Leicaflex SL.
Filters are mounted via an adapter ring for Series 7 filters. The optical construction is 5 elements in 4 groups. It has a built-in hood, and the minimum focusing distance is 1.5m.
There are small marks on the helicoid ring and aperture ring, as well as one dent around the center of the side of the built-in hood, but none of these affect use. It is in just the right condition to be used freely and heavily without hesitation.
All functions operate properly, and the helicoid feels smooth.
The glass shows a slight amount of internal dust, but there is no noticeable haze or cleaning marks. It remains clear and bright, in very good optical condition.
Genuine front and rear caps, a 14161 filter retaining ring, and a non-genuine Series 7 UV filter are included.
