The entry-level twin-lens reflex from Rollei, the Rolleicord Vb. Serial number in the 2.6 million range, produced in the early 1960s.
The Vb is the final form of the Rolleicord series, the younger sibling of the Rolleiflex. The finder hood and focusing screen are interchangeable.
It omits the Automat film advance and instead uses the start mark system, with a winding knob rather than a crank, though in practice this does not feel inconvenient. The weight reduction from these simplified functions is a welcome point.
Each component retains the build quality of the golden age Rolleiflex, making it a well-crafted camera despite being the budget version.
There are traces of strap wear and repair marks on the side of the focusing hood. A few light scuffs can also be seen on the side of the back cover, but there are no dents and overall it is a clean piece.
In September 2025 the camera received a complete overhaul including shutter servicing, lubrication of the winding knob, and disassembly and cleaning of the lens, aperture, and viewfinder. The operating feel of each part is smooth and pleasant.
The taking lens has a very faint haze remaining around the edge of the middle element, but it will hardly affect actual photography.
Overall, this is a well-preserved camera in good condition. With thorough servicing, it is ready to be used with confidence and is also well suited as an entry into twin-lens reflex photography.
Comes with the original cap.
