This limited edition model was released in 2004 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Summicron. Only 1000 units were produced worldwide. Leica catalog number is 11615. Chrome barrel. Optical construction of 4 groups and 6 elements. Minimum focusing distance is 0.7 m.
It pays homage to the later version of the first fixed-mount Summicron, which remains popular even today. The filter size is also E39. The infinity lock lever has been omitted, giving it a modern finish. Body weight is 260 g (for reference, the later version of the 1st fixed-mount weighs 250 g).
With its outstanding design, it matches perfectly not only with digital Leica cameras but also with current film Leica M models.
No signs of hood attachment marks or wear on the mount surface, a beautiful piece in like-new condition with no signs of use. Fully overhauled in September 2025. Thanks to meticulous servicing, the aperture and focusing rings operate with an exceptionally smooth feel. The front element shows only very slight coating deterioration, which has virtually no effect on actual photography. Otherwise, the glass is clear with no haze or cleaning marks. Test shots confirmed the characteristic contrasty rendering of the Summicron, with excellent results. Comes complete with dedicated front cap, 13132 UVa filter, rear cap, dedicated 12585 hood, hood cap, leather case, original warranty, inspection certificate, manual, and original box. A perfect addition to any collection.
