A popular VALAU in nickel finish. This one is the version with the hexagonal logo engraving. It was originally designed for enlarging work using the Leica L mount Elmar 50mm f3.5. In the darkroom, it was a groundbreaking accessory that made aperture operation dramatically easier, but today it is more commonly used for actual photography.
Beyond its excellent handling, the design is also appealing, making it an ideal match for nickel Elmar 35mm and 50mm lenses. Its successor, the VALOO, appeared after the war, but the VALAU remains the more desirable option thanks to its nickel texture and classic character.

The nickel plating has taken on a subdued, darker tone from hand wear, with a few tiny spots of corrosion. It carries the presence of aged silver. No dents are visible.
Confirmed to fit our Elmar 50mm f3.5 and Elmar 35mm f3.5, and the aperture ring operates smoothly.
