※About rarity

The Leica telephoto lens Tele-Elmar 135mm f4. Product code 11851. Serial number in the 2.04 million range, manufactured in 1964. Although the official release was in 1965, this one belongs to the very earliest batch. A sharp-looking early red scale version. Optical construction is 3 groups and 5 elements. Straight focusing helicoid. Slightly uncommon.
Among rangefinder-coupled lenses for the Leica M system, it offers the longest focal length. The lens head can be removed for use with the Visoflex. Minimum focusing distance is 1.5 m, and the filter size is E39. Compatible hoods are IUFOO and 12575.
A rather scarce red scale Tele-Elmar. It pairs beautifully with period Leica M3 or M2 black paint bodies.

There are a few tiny pinpoint spots of paint loss on the knurled sections of the aperture ring and helicoid, but aside from that, there is hardly any wear from use and the barrel is in very clean condition.
This lens was carefully used by one of our customers, with accurate focusing performance and no issues with rangefinder coupling.
The helicoid movement has a slightly firm feel, and servicing can be arranged separately for an additional fee.
On the optics, two very faint cleaning marks can be seen at the edge of the front element, though they have virtually no impact on image quality. There is no haze, and overall the glass is clear and crisp. Test shots also produced excellent results.
Comes with non-original front and rear caps.
