※About rarity

Summicron-R 35mm f2 for Leicaflex, early version. Commonly known as the tapered Summicron or Summicron 9-element, with a retrofocus design. Serial number is in the 2.73 million range, produced in 1974 by Leitz Canada. Optical construction is 7 groups 9 elements. Leitz product code is 11227.
It has been upgraded to 3-cam, making it usable on Leica R series cameras as well. Coating shows amber and purple hues. A legendary lens delivering impressive image quality, with the added advantage of a minimum focusing distance of 30 cm.
Filter size is Series 7 or E48.

The exterior shows two tiny spots of paint loss on the knurled section, but otherwise there is hardly any sign of use and it remains in very clean condition. All parts have been inspected. The helicoid and aperture ring operate smoothly with a pleasant feel. The glass shows slight coating deterioration on the back of the front element and on an inner element, but this should have virtually no effect on actual images. No noticeable cleaning marks are present, and the overall condition matches the fine exterior. Comes with 12509 hood, front and rear caps.
